Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 20, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Rate Your Attending collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website and related services. This policy is written for our current product and should be reviewed by legal counsel before production use.

Information We Collect

  • Account information, such as your name, email address, profile details, school affiliation, and authentication information.
  • Content you submit, such as attending reviews, ratings, department or faculty feedback, contact messages, school requests, and images you choose to upload.
  • Usage and device information, such as pages viewed, approximate device/browser details, timestamps, log data, and security events.
  • Communications information when you contact us for support or request a school.

How We Use Information

  • To operate Rate Your Attending, display school-based attending reviews, maintain accounts, and provide support.
  • To review, moderate, investigate, or remove content that violates our Terms or creates safety, privacy, or integrity risks.
  • To respond to contact requests, school requests, ambassador interest, bug reports, and support questions.
  • To improve reliability, security, accessibility, user experience, and the quality of our school and department pages.

Reviews, Anonymity, and Medical Information

  • Rate Your Attending is designed for anonymous student feedback about attending physicians and clinical experiences.
  • Do not submit patient names, medical record numbers, dates of birth, photos, contact details, or other patient-identifying information.
  • We are not a health care provider, insurer, medical records system, or HIPAA covered entity. The Service is not intended for storing protected health information.
  • We may remove or edit content that appears to identify a patient, student, faculty member beyond the intended review context, or any other person in an unsafe or unlawful way.

Faculty Images and Privacy

  • Rate Your Attending does not provide default faculty headshots or platform-supplied faculty images, and we avoid supplying faculty images to reduce privacy and copyright risk.
  • Uploaded faculty images are treated as user content. Users are responsible for ensuring they have the rights, permissions, and authorization needed to submit an image.
  • If no authorized user-uploaded image is available, the Service displays a standard fallback illustration instead of a faculty photo.
  • We may remove images that appear to create privacy, copyright, safety, legal, or policy concerns.

No School Affiliation

  • Rate Your Attending is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially connected to any school, hospital, health system, residency program, department, or faculty member listed on the Service.

How We Share Information

  • With service providers that help us run the Service, such as hosting, authentication, database, email delivery, security, analytics, and support tools.
  • When required by law, legal process, safety obligations, or to protect the rights, privacy, and security of Rate Your Attending, users, schools, or the public.
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or transfer of assets, subject to appropriate privacy protections.
  • We do not sell personal information.

Retention and Security

  • We keep information for as long as needed to provide the Service, maintain records, resolve disputes, enforce policies, and comply with legal obligations.
  • We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee complete security.
  • If you believe your account or information is at risk, contact us promptly.

Your Choices

  • You may contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or other assistance with your personal information.
  • You may choose not to provide certain information, but some features may not work without it.
  • You can stop using the Service at any time. We may retain limited records as needed for safety, compliance, or legitimate operational purposes.

Children

  • The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
  • If you believe a child under 13 has provided information to us, contact us so we can take appropriate action.

Changes

  • We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service changes. The updated version will be posted with a new effective date.
