Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of Rate Your Attending. They are written for our current product and should be reviewed by legal counsel before production use.
Eligibility and Accounts
- You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for activity under your account.
- You may not impersonate another person, misrepresent your school affiliation, or use the Service for unlawful or harmful purposes.
Purpose of the Service
- Rate Your Attending provides a place for medical students to share and browse school-based feedback about attending physicians and clinical experiences.
- The Service is for informational purposes only. It is not medical, legal, employment, credentialing, academic, or professional advice.
- Reviews reflect user-submitted opinions and experiences. We do not guarantee that reviews are complete, current, accurate, or representative.
No School Affiliation
- Rate Your Attending is an independent platform and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially connected to any school, hospital, health system, residency program, department, or faculty member listed on the Service.
- School, hospital, department, and faculty names may appear for identification and organization of user-submitted content only.
User Content
- You are responsible for content you submit, including reviews, ratings, messages, and school requests.
- You grant Rate Your Attending a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, modify, display, and distribute your submitted content as needed to operate and improve the Service.
- You may not submit content that is false, defamatory, harassing, discriminatory, threatening, obscene, unlawful, or otherwise harmful.
- You may not submit patient-identifying information, protected health information, private student information, confidential school or hospital information, or other information you do not have permission to share.
Images and Likenesses
- Rate Your Attending does not provide default faculty headshots or platform-supplied faculty images.
- If you upload an image, you represent that you own it, have permission to use it, or are otherwise authorized to submit it.
- Do not upload images that violate copyright, privacy, publicity, confidentiality, school or hospital policy, or another person's rights.
- We may remove, restrict, or refuse images at any time if they create copyright, privacy, safety, legal, or integrity risk.
Moderation and Enforcement
- We may review, edit, remove, restrict, or refuse content at any time if we believe it violates these Terms, creates risk, or undermines the integrity of the Service.
- We may suspend or terminate access for misuse, policy violations, security concerns, or legal risk.
- We are not required to monitor all content and are not responsible for user content posted through the Service.
Acceptable Use
- Do not scrape, overload, reverse engineer, interfere with, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service.
- Do not use the Service to identify anonymous users, retaliate against reviewers, spam users, or collect personal information from others.
- Do not submit malicious code, automated requests, deceptive content, or content that violates another party's rights.
Intellectual Property
- The Service, design, branding, software, and related materials are owned by Rate Your Attending or its licensors.
- You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from the Service except as allowed by these Terms or with our written permission.
Disclaimers
- The Service is provided as is and as available.
- We disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, accuracy, and reliability to the fullest extent allowed by law.
- We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that content will remain available.
Limitation of Liability
- To the fullest extent allowed by law, Rate Your Attending will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, reputational harm, or service interruption.
- Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the six months before the claim or $100.
Changes to the Service or Terms
- We may update the Service or these Terms from time to time.
- If changes are material, we will make reasonable efforts to provide notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
