I thought that Dr. Shank wasn't as bad as some people say she was. She doesn't interact with students directly much, the communication goes through residents. She's not the one for pimping during surgeries either, she can ask you a few questions though, and you're expected to prep for cases. When she did teach. I thought she did a good job explaining things. She's not a ray of sunshine with the residents/students but she is super sweet with patients, and they adore her. Overall, I thought that Dr. Shank was straightforward and fair, and you can learn a lot from her if you're interested.
