I had the opportunity to work with Dr. Levy during my inpatient general neurology rotation, and I can confidently say he is one of the most outstanding clinical educators I’ve encountered in medical school. What stood out immediately was his clear passion for teaching — it wasn’t just something he did alongside patient care, but a core part of how he approached each day on service.
Dr. Levy consistently took education to the next level, whether that meant diving into the requisite neuroanatomy, walking through imaging in detail, or guiding us through clinical decision-making with real-time teaching pearls. He never settled for superficial explanations and was always generous with his time and insight.
He also consistently gave me specific, actionable tips to improve both my neurologic physical exam skills and my patient presentations. His feedback helped me fine-tune my approach and pushed me to be more precise and confident.
I also had the chance to shadow Dr. Levy in his EMG clinic, which added another layer of learning. He took the time to walk me through the fundamentals of EMG and nerve conduction testing while staying engaged with patient care, turning what could have been a complex and confusing encounter into something highly accessible and educational.
On top of all this, Dr. Levy created a supportive and engaging learning environment. He was approachable, enthusiastic, and genuinely invested in the growth of all of the medical students and residents on the team. He is also a very fair evaluator!
